Hosted by the charismatic show takes viewers into the captivating world of deception and intrigue, as it unfolds within an imposing castle set against the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.
The show features a diverse group of contestants who must navigate a complex web of alliances and betrayals. Among them are a select number of participants designated as “Traitors,” whose secret mission is to discreetly eliminate others from the game without revealing their identities.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Jaz Singh, a finalist from the second series, opened up about the extensive pre-show application process that aspiring contestants must undergo, describing it as akin to a “game before the game.”
Singh shared that he was inspired to apply for the show after his father noticed an advertisement on specifically seeking contestants from Manchester.
The Traitors is hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
The application itself proved to be an intriguing experience, taking Singh approximately two hours to complete. It featured a variety of thought-provoking questions, including “What’s your biggest fear?” and “What’s your biggest lie?”.
These questions aimed to gauge the personality and motivations of potential participants. Shortly after submitting his application, Singh received an encouraging email from the producers of The Traitors, marking the beginning of his journey in this thrilling competition.
“I went through a hundred Zooms, a hundred auditions,” Singh said, admitting he initially thought the entire application process must be a scam due to its elaborate nature.
Two weeks before filming, producers told Singh his application had been successful. However, he still faced his biggest challenge, keeping his NDA about his involvement in the show.
Jaz Singh appeared on Season 2 of The Traitors.
“You have to get a ton of stuff prepared, how you’re going to deliver this information to various family members to keep this a secret, because you’re under an NDA, and they will sue you for hundreds of thousands of pounds of TV damages if this gets leaked,” he revealed.
“So it is such a tactful process, and then to get on eventually, it’s mind-blowing,” Singh added.
“You are playing the game before you even enter that castle, before you even get a tap on the shoulder, before you put their blindfolds on before Claudia says ‘hello’.”
As we approach the climax of the thrilling reality competition, “The Traitors,” Wednesday, January 22, marks a pivotal point in the game.
