Kyogo Furuhashi had three first-half goals disallowed for Celtic
Kyogo Furuhashi had three goals disallowed in 34 minutes as endured a nightmarish first-half against Young Boys that also saw them miss a penalty – though they went on to eventually claim a monumental 1-0 win.
Japanese international Kyogo three times had the ball in the net in the first half during the Champions League league phase clash on Wednesday night.
But twice he saw his strikes ruled out due to offside before a third effort was chalked off because of a foul in the build-up.
There was even more frustration at Parkhead when Arne Engels’ penalty was saved after Greg Taylor had been pulled down inside the box.
It is the first time the £11million summer signing has missed from the spot having previously scored six from six for the Bhoys.
Kyogo Furuhashi three times had the ball in the net for Celtic inside the first 34 minutes
Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon, speaking on TNT Sports, said of his former club at half-time: “They’ve done everything right, they’ve played really well and deserve to be in front.
“The goal’s going to come, there’s no need to panic about anything. I don’t think Engels made clear contact with the penalty, he normally strikes the ball a lot better.”
Kyogo had the ball in the back of the net after six minutes but was found to have gone too early with his run before beating Marvin Keller.
Celtic’s second goal was ruled out after Callum McGregor was judged to have fouled Cheikh Niasse in the build-up.
He’s scored a hat-trick… but all ruled out ❌A THIRD Kyogo goal ruled out for Celtic in the first half… still 0-0 ???????????? &

The third was cancelled due to both the Japanese forward and compatriot Daizen Maeda being in an offside position.
The misfortune continued into the second half as Auston Trusty headed against the crossbar before the hour mark.
But the Scottish Premiership finally broke the deadlock in the 86th minute courtesy of Loris Benito’s own goal after an Adam Idah shot rebounded off the goalkeeper and hit Benito before going in.
Maeda was sent off for lashing out shortly after but the Scottish champions held on for a huge win that all but secures a play-off place with the Hoops having not progressed into the knockout stages of the Champions League since 2012-13.
Young Boys remain bottom of the table under the new format of the tournament and have zero points from seven games.
