Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen will go head-to-head in a repeat of the World Championship final when the 2025 Premier League Darts campaign gets underway in Belfast next month. ‘The Nuke’ and his rival will serve as the main event on the opening night, with last year’s runner-up Luke Humphries taking on Nathan Aspinall.
The returning Stephen Bunting meanwhile, will take on Rob Cross, while the other addition this year, Chris Dobey, plays Gerwyn Price.
The campaign gets underway at the SSE Arena on Thursday, February 6.
It won’t be until night six that fans get a repeat of the 2024 final though. Littler doesn’t face world No.1 Luke Humphries until March 13 in Nottingham, with the pair then meeting a second time in Aberdeen on May 15.
Overall, there will be 16 Premier League meetings before the top four qualify for finals night at The O2 in London on May 29. Fixtures for night eight and night 16 will be determined by league standings heading into each night.
All matches will be played over the best of 11 legs, with a £10,000 bonus on offer to the winner of each meeting. Ranking points will also be awarded per night – with five to the winner, three to the runner-up and two to the semi-finalists – with the top four players in the league progressing to the Play-Offs in London.
