Netflix has shared the first look and exciting details of a new sports comedy coming very soon on the platform.
The world’s biggest streaming service has already had a stellar start to 2025, with dramas like American Primeval, the return of XO, Kitty and the upcoming second season of The Night Agent all dropping in January.
Subscribers now have another essential new series to add to their watchlist and it’s one that romantic-comedy fans won’t want to miss.
Rom-com queen Kate Hudson leads her first series, Running Point, this February, after recently starring in the streamer’s hit sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery back in 2022.
The streamer has just revealed its exciting first look, featuring Hudson looking glam in a red suit as Isla Gordon, the new president of the fictional world famous basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves.

Will Isla have bit off more than she can chew, or will she be able to lead the Waves to victory?
Meanwhile, she’ll also have a huge serving of family drama to deal with on the side of her demanding new career.
A synopsis reads: “When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business.
“Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job.”
This promising new series comes from the minds of comedy legends Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, plus co-creator Elaine Ko, who has worked on massive hits like Modern Family and Only Murders in the Building.
