Meet Daisy Waterstone: From The Durrells to Prime Target

TV+’s latest thriller series, Prime Target, offers a thrilling blend of mathematics, history and spy drama.

The series stars Leo Woodall from One Day as Edward Brooks, a gifted Cambridge mathematician whose fascination with prime numbers inadvertently makes him a threat to powers beyond his comprehension.

In the eight-part series, Edward embarks on a global quest for truth while evading covert forces in hot pursuit.

Viewers can look forward to an impressive cast featuring familiar faces such as David Morrissey from The Walking Dead and Sherwood as Professor Robert Mallinder, Irish veteran actor Stephen Rea as House Master of Darnell College Professor James Alderman, and Danish actress Sidse Babett Knudsen, known for Borgen, as Professor Andrea Lavin.

The cast also includes Martha Plimpton as Jane Torres, Quintessa Swindell as Taylah Sanders, Jason Flemyng as Stephen Patrick Nield, Harry Lloyd as Andrew Carter, Ali Suliman as Dr. Akram Nizar, Fra Fee as Adam Mellor, and Joseph Mydell as Professor Raymond Osborne, reports .

Prime Target viewers might also be intrigued by some of the lesser-known and supporting characters in the show, such as Edward’s fellow student and dorm mate Fiona Carey.

Fiona is played by British actress Daisy Waterstone, who is perhaps most recognised for her role as Margo Durrell in ITV’s family drama The Durrells.

The 30-year-old actress graced our screens from 2016 to 2019 in the beloved series, acting alongside Keeley Hawes, Callum Woodhouse and Josh O’Connor.

In addition to her role in The Durrells, Waterstone has been seen in films such as Testament of Youth, Cyberbully and The Eternal Moment.

Her television repertoire extends to Silent Witness, And Then There Were None, The Capture, The Long Shadow and Inspector Dalgliesh.

Waterstone has also showcased her talents on stage in productions like Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Crucible and Rules for Living.

She began her journey with the National Theatre at just 13 years old, later honing her craft at the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Born into a family of creatives, she is the daughter of Waterstones bookshop chain founder Sir Tim Waterstone, and author and film producer Rosie Alison. She’s one of eight children in her family.

Waterstone has opened up about the similarities between herself and her character from The Durrells.

Speaking to ITV’s This Morning in 2018, she said: “I think we both think in a very similar way. We both think out the box.”

“We’re both very lateral thinkers and also I don’t mind having flaws. I like having flaws and that’s what Margo’s like.”

Prime Target premieres on Apple TV+ today with episodes dropping weekly on Wednesdays
