was ruthlessly trolled by one of his rivals as he celebrated his 18th birthday on Tuesday. The reigning world champion is now officially an adult, meaning he is finally able to buy a pint to celebrate his recent success.

Taking to his story, he posted a snap of Littler sleeping on what appeared to be a business-class flight. Dobey kept the caption short and sweet, writing: “Happy birthday big lad,” alongside a kissing emoji.

The two players will battle it out in this year’s , where Littler will be hoping to defend the title he won in 2024. Dobey, meanwhile, will be involved for the first time in two years after reaching the semi-finals.

Littler’s decision to stay at home on his birthday came as little surprise, with the Runcorn native revealing in advance that he would be keeping it sensible due to the unforgiving nature of his schedule.

“I haven’t got anything planned really because there is a lot of darts around this time,” he told the PA news agency when quizzed on his party plans.

“I will probably just do something at home before the crazy schedule starts, but I gave myself the best early birthday present by winning the Worlds.

“My first year has been difficult, at the start of the year with the and travelling to the European Tours. I have been travelling up and down the country. It’s at the start of the year when the crazy schedule is.”

Littler is due to return to action at next week’s Dutch Darts Masters, .

He will discover his opponent after the preliminary rounds, featuring tour card holders and representatives from secondary tours. He did not qualify for the 2024 edition of the tournament due to his ranking position, which was just outside the cut-off point.

The Nuke will be hoping for an immediate return to form after failing to defend his title at the recent Bahrain Darts Masters, where he lost to Gerwyn Price in the second round.
