Man charged with assault with a weapon, break and enter, in Malakwa

A man has been charged with multiple criminal offences including assault with a weapon and break and enter.

On Saturday morning, Sicamous RCMP were called to a residence in Malakwa for a break and enter in progress.

A man was allegedly armed with a weapon and had gained entry to a residence. The man got into a confrontation with the residents inside and was arrested by officers as they arrived at the location, according to RCMP.

The man, Kraig Bergson, has been charged with multiple offences related to this event including assault with a weapon, break and enter, disguising face, breach of undertaking, and possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Bergson appeared before the courts and is being held in custody.

RCMP asking for help to identify break and enter suspects in Kamloops area

The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment has released photos of break and enter suspects.

On Nov. 19, 2024, between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m., two men allegedly broke into a trailer near Sullivan Valley Road and stole hunting equipment, including two firearms, a compound bow, chainsaw, and welder.

“As part of the investigation, police have obtained two suspect images to release to the public, with the hope that someone will recognize one or both of the men pictured and contact us as soon as possible,” said Corp. Crystal Evelyn, Tk’emlúps RCMP spokesperson.

RCMP on the Sunshine Coast investigate hit and run

On Jan. 11, at 12:20 p.m., police and paramedics responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on the Sunshine Coast Highway near Byng Road in Roberts Creek.

A red Chevrolet had collided with a grey Toyota Yaris after the Yaris had veered into oncoming traffic, according to RCMP.

The Chevrolet driver was transported to hospital and the Yaris driver had left before police arrived.
