Woman found dead in London flat named and pictured as murder investigation launched

Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Woolwich have identified the victim as 43-year-old Marianne Kilonzi.

Police were called to a residential address in Argyll Road, SE18, at around 17:25 on Friday, 17 January, following concerns for the welfare of the occupant.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Marianne’s body. No arrests have been made at this stage.

Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren, from Specialist Crime South, who is leading the inquiry, said: “This is a devastating crime, and our thoughts are with Marianne’s family, friends, and colleagues during this extremely difficult time.

“Her family is being supported by specialist officers.

“I understand this is a worrying time for the local community, but I want to reassure everyone that, although our investigation is still in its early stages, we believe Marianne knew the suspect, and there is no wider risk to the public.

“This is a fast-moving inquiry, and I urge anyone with information to come forward.
