TalkTV Keir Starmer row spirals out of control as star insists ‘that’s not what I said’

erupted into chaos during a heated exchange between and former Labour official Richard Power Sayeed today.

The pair clashed over Prime Minister speech addressing the , particularly his remarks about government responsibility and the failures of counterterrorism measures.

During the segment, Hartley-Brewer pressed Sayeed on Starmer’s handling of the case and the implications of his comments about the Southport murders.

Sayeed criticized what he called “ridiculous accusations of a cover-up with no factual basis”, urging for clarity on the distinctions between the government’s actions and the police’s role in the case.

“It’s incredibly important that we don’t mix up very, very different things here,” Sayeed argued. “You’re asking me to talk about — what the government’s chosen to do, and now you’re talking about the police.”

Hartley-Brewer interjected: “No, no, you’re talking about the police. I’m asking you about . I’m asking about the political decision — “

Sayeed cut in, insisting: “No, you asked me about and the terrorist offence — because you talked about the definition of a terror offence and what Starmer said about that.

“I’m trying to talk about the ridiculous accusations that have been made and show how they don’t have a factual basis. The way that people manage to make these conspiracy theories seem like they’re sticking is by mixing up very different things.”

Viewers were left fuming at Richard’s attitude towards Julia during the interview, and called him out for his frequent interruptions.

One person hit out: “I saw this piece. What a sneering man. The whole atrocious event seemed to just be a game of pedantry for him. Talk about dancing on the head of a pin. Very well handled by JHB.”

Another added: “This lefty idiot is everything that is wrong with Labour and their blind supporters. Total hypocrite — one inquiry is right, one is wrong, and Starmer does nothing wrong. The sneering idiot can continue to bury his head in the sand, but the British people see right through him.”

The row stems from Starmer’s comments on the Southport killings, a tragic event where 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana murdered three young girls in a meticulously planned attack.

Starmer has since vowed to address the growing terror threat posed by “loners, misfits, and young men in their bedrooms,” and to implement swift legal reforms if necessary.

Rudakubana was known to authorities including the Prevent counter-extremism programme and had been flagged multiple times before the attack.

Despite these warnings, no action was taken.
