In the UK where the weather is famously unpredictable, investing in a top-notch weatherproof coat is key. Fashion brand Seasalt Cornwall are earning shopper’s praise for rain and wind-resistant attire that are as stylish as they are practical.

We’ve spotted a coat that has been hailed by one satisfied customer as ‘exactly what I was looking for’, currently stocked in sizes eight to 20. The is priced at £190 and as it can be worn three ways, it’s an investment that can be worn year-round, not just in winter.

It may seem like quite the splurge, but this coat is crafted as a dual-piece ensemble making it adaptable for all seasons. The outer parka is designed with lightweight padding, a drawstring waist for shaping, a bi-directional zip, and topped off with a storm-front hood.

Inside, find the separate sleeveless warmer made from cosy borg material with stylish contrast trims, dipped hem and essential pockets. Wear them together for a snug winter layer or solo as either a waterproof parka or chic gilet.

Labelled by many as the , it boasts an impressive average review score of 4.6 out of five stars from 37 reviews, although opinions do vary and there are some less glowing reports among them.

One buyer snapped it up stating: “I’ve been looking for a coat like this for ages, and this is the first one I’ve found that ticks every box. Smart, comfortable, plenty of pockets, and genuinely wind and waterproof.”

A second person expressed relief at finally finding what they’ve been searching for. They remarked: “I’m 66 and this is the best coat I’ve ever worn. The quality and fine detail are exceptional. The length is perfect to keep your legs dry but not too long as I’m 5′ 4.”

Another wrote: “The zip out lining is a brilliant idea. The coat is lined and warm enough without it but will be perfect to add it on really cold days. I am size 18 but ordered a 16 as I didn’t want it to swamp me and it fits perfectly. Thrilled to bits with it.”

However, the arms of the coat were an issue for some people for various reasons. One person noted: “The coat was lovely and fitted perfectly everywhere but disappointingly was tight under the arms.”

And another added: “The parka is great, only thing I would say is that when it’s cold your arms are cold. No second layer on the arms.”

One customer, singing its praises, commented: “This coat is an essential purchase for living in the UK. You can never predict the weather from autumn onwards and so this coat covers all bases. I absolutely love it!”

For those concerned about its durability in extreme weather, a satisfied customer raved about its performance, stating: “I’ve tested this out in Storm Henk (very windy, very rainy) and it worked a treat. I love the fact there’s a removable lining, which allows it to be used for the majority of seasons and weathers. The hood is deep enough to have a ponytail in and still protect you from the weather.”
