Brentford striker Yoane Wissa has emerged as a target for Nottingham Forest
have reportedly submitted a £22million bid for striker Yoane Wissa as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side continue their push for Champions League qualification.
The French striker has impressed in front of goal for the Bees this season, finding the net 11 times in the and providing two assists in 20 games for the west London outfit.
The 28-year-old’s performances have clearly not gone under the radar, with Wissa’s displays catching the eye of their top-flight rivals Forest.
According to The Athletic, Forest have submitted an official bid to test the waters at the Gtech Community Stadium by offering a deal worth £22m.
But their offer is set to be rejected by Brentford as it falls ‘significantly below’ their value of their first-choice striker. The DR Congo international’s contract is due to expire in June 2026, but there are no concerns regarding his happiness with life at Brentford.
Wissa has emerged as an important member of the squad since signing from French outfit Lorient in August 2021.
Since moving to the capital, he has scored 41 goals in 133 appearances and created nine assists – the majority of which have come after he replaced as Thomas Frank’s leading No. 9.
He spent most of his early career playing in the French lower leagues with Chateauroux and Angers, before he linked with up with the Ligue 1 side.

His journey to prominence is similar to his team-mate Bryan Mbeumo, who is also attracting interest ahead of a potential big-money switch.
Mbeumo, 25, has formed a lethal front three with Wissa and Kevin Schade, and the Cameroonian has fired 13 goals for his side this season.
, and have all been credited with an interest in signing the winger, who is valued at around £60m by Brentford.
If they are unable to agree a fee for Wissa, Forest are prepared to consider other options as they look to bring in another striker to provide competition to Chris Wood, who has bagged 14 goals in the this season.

Nuno’s men are currently third in the standings and maintain a realistic chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League for the first time since the competition was founded in 1992.
