Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott reiterated his desire to fight for his place at the club after scoring the winning goal in Tuesday’s 2-1 victory against Lille. Elliott replaced Ryan Gravenberch at half-time and restored the hosts’ lead in the 67th minute at Anfield after Jonathan David cancelled out ‘s opener.
The 21-year-old’s strike maintained ‘s 100 per cent record in the first-ever Champions League: League Phase and has put them on the cusp of finishing top ahead of next week’s curtain-closer at PSV Eindhoven.

“I think it’s pretty clear [what the celebration meant], to be honest. I’m not leaving. I said it in an interview the other day: this is my team, my club,” Elliott told Prime Video presenter Gabby Logan.
“We’re in a great position so far this season. To be honest, I didn’t see all the stuff. It’s just a few things my friends have said to me – calling me up left, right, and centre saying where are you going? It’s the first I’ve heard of that.”
