Storm weather maps turn red as almost ‘entire UK’ blasted by snow and rain

The UK is to be buried in, according to online forecaster WX Charts.

Only small areas of the country are predicted to avoid the wintery downpours, with western areas worst hit.

The Scottish Highlands are predicted to see snowfall at noon on January 27, with north-eastern Scotland and the Central Belt also possibly affected.

Meanwhile much of the rest of the country will experience heavy rain. Only Northern Ireland, London, the south-east, and East Anglia should swerve the deluge.

The heaviest rain is expected to be in Wales and the south-west of England.

However, there will also be rain in the north-west and north-east of England.

The south coast of England, in areas like Brighton, will also see rainfall.

WX Charts is also predicting heaving rain hitting the UK on January 29.

Following the downpours on Monday, the rain will be heaviest in the west of the country and cover almost all of the British Isles.

Today:

A band of rain across western areas of Scotland will clear into northern England and the north-west of Wales throughout today. Rather cloudy to the south of this, although perhaps a few breaks developing. To the north there will be a mix of sunny spells and showers.

Tonight:

Patchy rain will hover across the central swathe of the country overnight. Otherwise there will be a mix of clouds and clear spells, with some foggy patches developing.

Tuesday:

It will then remain cloudy with outbreaks of rain across central areas of the UK. On each coast, morning fog patches lifting allowing some sunny spells to develop, especially in northern areas.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Very cloudy with rain and drizzle in places on Wednesday. It will turn increasingly unsettled from Thursday onwards, with some wet and windy weather arriving on Friday.
