Russell Brand has been spotted heading to Donald Trump’s inauguration, causing a buzz with his surprise arrival.

The British comedian was noticed near to the ceremony where Trump assumed the role of President of the United States after defeating Democrat challenger .

On this pivotal day in Washington DC, Brand was captured on camera meandering towards the US Capitol dressed down in a vest, an unbuttoned shirt, shades, and clutching a water bottle.

Today heralds the start of Trump’s administration and the end of ‘s sole term.

High-profile figures, including past US presidents and vice presidents, have received welcomes inside the Capitol, joining esteemed judiciary members.

While Brand’s appearance at the Capitol may baffle some, he’s been an open supporter of Trump and routinely addresses political topics to his extensive online audience.

On his podcast, Stay Free with Russell Brand, last year, he declared firmly: “In a straight choice between and , if you care about democracy, if you care about freedom, I don’t know how you could do anything other than vote for for precisely the reasons that they claim that you can’t.”

Brand pulled no punches last year when discussing Trump’s trial and conviction with RNC spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko on Fox News.

He slammed the fierce opposition to Trump, saying: “They act as if a vote for is almost like you’re directly voting for Armageddon,” the Mirror US reported.

Brand dismissed the anti-Trump campaign as “hysterical” and argued that a greater threat to democracy is the growing power of tech giants, which he claims fuels censorship, war funding, and division among Americans.

He also decried the “weaponization of the legal system” against Trump and called out the “snobbery” of Trump’s critics, making his views on the issue crystal clear.
