Nigel Farage beats Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch in bombshell best PM poll

beats Sir Keir Starmer on who would make the best prime minister, new polling shows.

The YouGov survey found that 20% of Britons said the Reform UK leader compared to 19% who backed the PM.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch comes third with 9%, while Lib Dem Sir Ed Davey is next with 8%.

A further 44% said they did not know in the poll of 2,266 adults carried out from January 15-16.

Just 50% of Labour voters said Sir Keir would make the best premier out of the four politicians, with 34% unsure.

Among Conservative backers, 32% opted for Ms Badenoch while 24% said Mr Farage.

But the Clacton MP has the overwhelming support of Reform voters with 81% saying he would be the top choice for No 10.

Meanwhile, just 30% of Liberal Democrat voters said Sir Ed would be the best occupant in 10 Downing Street, with 22% favouring Sir Keir.

It comes as Mr Farage’s Reform has surged in national opinion polls since July’s general election, while Labour support has plummeted.

The first YouGov poll since the ballot put Labour on 26%, Reform on 25% and the on 22%.

Both Mr Farage and Ms Badenoch have rejected suggestions for an electoral pact between their two parties.
