The First Lady will show up for key events but is reportedly wanting to spend as little time as possible at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

This may come as no surprise as when Trump was first inaugurated as President on January 20 2017 Melania and the couple’s son Barron didn’t move into the White House until June. At the time it was said this was to allow Barron to finish his school year without interruption.

The 54-year-old reportedly struggled the first time around with the realities of being First Lady and living a life that wasn’t her dream.

“Melania is unhappy with how her life ended up,” in 2017, adding: “She is miserable.”

Melania has since admitted that when she first came to D.C. eight years ago, “people didn’t accept” her and “didn’t understand” her the way they do now, adding that she “didn’t have much support.”

Don’t miss… [SPOTLIGHT] [REACTION]

This is not the first time there have been claims that Melenia did not enjoy being First Lady. In 2018, a report from New York Magazine cited an excerpt from a book written by Michael Wolff which claimed that when Mr Trump secured victory in the 2016 election.

He wrote that Donald Jr. said his father “looked as if he had seen a ghost. Melania was in tears – and not of joy.”

The book sparked an angry response from Melania as she disputed the claims, saying: “This book is clearly going to be sold in the bargain fiction section.

This time around Melania denied the claims. She said: “Maybe people see me as just a wife of the president,” she said, in an interview with Fox News. “But I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts.”

“I give him my advice, and sometimes he listens,” she stated. “Sometimes he doesn’t. And that’s OK.”
