is starting to follow in the footsteps of her late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II after she was seen taking part in Army training.
The young royal, 21, joined others in the University Officer Training Corps (UOTC) at St Andrews in Fife to take part in the training and war games.
A source told : “Louise has loved every minute of being a member of the officer cadets at university.
“She’s received basic Army officer training and is more determined than ever to serve King and country in the future.
“She fitted the officer training corps around her studies and has benefited hugely from the skills that she’s been taught.”

Photographs of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie’s daughter showed her with face camouflage as she smiled in combat fatigues holding a helmet with “Windsor” on it.
The royal was also seen carrying an SA80 rifle. As reported by The Sun, Louise has had basic weapons training, leadership lessons and a course in how to navigate tough terrain under pressure.
At the moment, Louise is in her third year at university and is set to graduate this summer.
While her future steps after university have not been confirmed, it is believed Louise is eager to follow in the footsteps of the late Queen, who was in the Auxiliary Territorial Service as a Junior Commander in the Second World War.

The Ministry of Defence said: “The UOTC provides a standard of experience and training that’s well respected within the Army.”
The future career choice for the young royal comes years after her mother Duchess Sophie, who turns 60 today, confirmed that her children had been brought up understanding they would need to work as a living.
This comes after Sophie and Prince Edward made the choice not to bestow HRH titles on their children from birth, allowing them to live a more ordinary lifestyle away from the public eye.
