ITV viewers say same thing after notable no-show at Donald Trump’s second inauguration

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted one famous face was noticeably absent from inauguration.

On Monday (January 20), both American and world leaders alike swarmed the U.S. Capitol to witness the historic moment as the former business mogul returned to office.

Former presidents from George Bush and his wife Barbara, to Bill Clinton and his wife, former presidential candidate were all in attendance for the big day.

But former US president entrance into the Rotunda had the gossip mill churning after he arrived without his wife, former first lady .

The Obamas’ office announced her absence in a statement, though no reason was given. The former first lady also skipped the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter earlier this month.

It is tradition for former presidents and their spouses to attend inaugurations, despite the awkward nature of their relationships. However, Trump and incoming first lady didn’t attend big day.

It didn’t take long before fans flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their confusion online. One user penned: “Notably absent is Michelle Obama she thinks she is bigger than this she is not.”

Another penned: “Credit where credit is due, both Clintons showed up. Michelle not coming is incredibly childish,’ and “She’s just rude as hell. I feel bad for him having to go solo.”

But she wasn’t the only controversial absence at the historic ceremony. Former was also nowhere to be seen on the big day.

Pelosi has attended 11 inauguration ceremonies, including Trump’s first in 2017. Her office has not provided an explanation for her absence, but she has a history of dramatic displays of opposition to the president-elect.

Trump has also made no attempts to play nice with the former speaker, frequently calling her out as an “enemy” at his campaign rallies.

Pelosi infamously tore apart a copy of Trump’s State of the Union address while standing just behind him on the floor of Congress in 2020. Vocal democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also took the opportunity to announce she would not be attending the inauguration on .

She blasted in a video: “All these journalists were like congresswoman, are you going to the inauguration? Congresswoman are you going to the inauguration? Are you going to the inauguration? Let me make myself clear. I don’t celebrate rapists, so no, I’m not going to the inauguration room.”

The politician also called out for a notification thanking “President Trump” for his efforts to reinstate the app, despite him not being in office. In her stories, AOC clarified that Trump is a private citizen with no presidential powers and raising concerns about ‘s intentions.

She accused the app of signaling collaboration with Trump and using its platform as a propaganda tool, warning her followers of the dangers of authoritarianism and what she described as “21st-century fascism.”
