Hailing from Malvern Hills, Briony was immersed in creativity from a young age, with her parents setting up their graphic design agency from their home.

Her artistic inclinations were nurtured by this environment, with Briony herself acknowledging that art and design have always been a “huge part of my life”.
Her academic journey fueled her passion, leading her to study art history at Nottingham University before securing a coveted scholarship from Sotheby’s Institute in London for a masterful pursuit in Fine and Decorative Art.
Captivated from her initial encounter at an auction during her studies, Briony expressed: “From the very first auction we attended in class, I was hooked.
“I was – and still am – completely sold on the drama and excitement of it all.”
With over a decade of experience under her belt, The Travelling Auctioneers’ latest team member has carved an impressive path in the auctioneering world, evolving from general valuer to her current pinnacle as a head auctioneer.
Briony now heads up the prestigious auction house Bonhams’ activities in Yorkshire and the North East, dedicating her time to “visiting clients, valuing and consigning items for auction”.
Her role at Bonhams is complemented by a historic achievement; Briony shattered a 40 year old glass ceiling as the first woman to command the Staffordshire Motorcycle Show’s auction in 2021.

In her downtime, Briony revealed to Bonhams a more personal facet of her life, sharing: “I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, when I find the time.
“As with all art, though, it is very subjective perhaps some might think it a talent… but I suspect many might not! “.
Despite her professional visibility, Briony keeps her private life under wraps, and thus, her relationship status remains something of an enigma.
Speaking candidly with the , Briony expressed her passion: “I love my job for many reasons, but the main one is helping people make a difference to their lives.
“I get no greater joy than unearthing treasures in people’s homes that they had no idea were worth anything, then selling them on the rostrum!”
