‘I’m a big The Traitors fan but the BBC are missing a trick without one big aspect’

Like the rest of the nation, I’ve been captivated by the current series of The Traitors on One. From the very first episode, we’ve been hit with unexpected twists and turns, with the initial ten minutes seeing Fozia, Alexander and Jack becoming the first casualties.

I’m personally devastated that there are only three episodes left, and its absence will undoubtedly leave a gaping hole in our hearts. However, as much as I love the show, I believe the is overlooking an opportunity to add an extra layer of intrigue to the programme next year.

, if you’re listening, in a game riddled with deceit, lies and manipulation, the ousted contestants shouldn’t be allowed to exit so easily, reports .

As devoted viewers know, each evening features a roundtable discussion where suspicions about who might be a Traitor are aired. The participants then have to write down their suspect on a small blackboard before revealing their choice one by one.

The individual with the most votes then stands up, discloses whether they’re a Faithful or a Traitor, and is banished from the castle forever. But imagine the drama if, unbeknownst to the Faithfuls, the expelled star hasn’t actually left.

During the nightly Traitors meeting, the banished Faithful should reappear, giving the unsuspecting Traitors the shock of their lives.

For the contestants, it would be a shock as it would confirm who the Traitors are, putting all of their suspicions to rest.

In a final act of revenge, they should be able to present a case to the Traitors for one of their co-stars they believe should be eliminated that night.

Of course, the Traitors do not have to follow through with the suggestion, but viewers would get a chance to see how they feel about their friends who may have betrayed them.

Don’t miss… [THEORY]

Often, those closest to each other in the game will have to betray one another, taking treachery to an unprecedented level in the castle.

The ultimate betrayal occurred this series when Maia chose to vote her sister Armani out of the show before being eliminated by the ruthless Traitors that night. Murder, banishment, lies, manipulation and treachery – why not add an element of revenge to the game?

It remains to be seen whether the Traitors or Faithfuls will secure the massive cash prize but one thing’s for sure, this series of The Traitors is one for the history books.

The Traitors continues on Wednesday at 9pm on One and iPlayer
