Duchess Sophie wears over £1,000 worth of jewellery in new birthday photo

is celebrating her 60th birthday today, with the royal expected to spend the day at her Bagshot Park home in Surrey.

Just days before her big day, the Royal Family issued a new photograph of the duchess to mark the occasion, with s Sophie at her royal home as she sits on a windowsill smiling.

In the photograph, taken by Christina Ebenezer, Sophie wore a black turtleneck jumper and a pleated skirt as she looked away from the camera. Many royal fans were quick to send the duchess birthday greetings, with some also commenting on how well Sophie, 60, looks for her age.

However, while the photograph as a whole caught the attention of the public, it was Sophie’s jewellery that also turned heads.

In the new image, the Duchess of Edinburgh was seen wearing £1,320 worth of jewellery,

This includes her “Felt Gold Chain Bracelet with Sliced Diamond”, which costs £375. It is believed the bracelet has been owned by the duchess since 2020.

This was pared with a simple gold chain, along with “Tahitian pearl and diamond drop earrings” from Gold and Platinum Studio.

The earrings, which are made from “beautiful dove grey pearls and diamonds”, sell for £945.

Since the image of the duchess was released on January 18, royal fans have flocked to praise Sophie on social media as she celebrates this new milestone.

One person wrote on X: “I love these beautiful new pictures of the amazing Duchess of Edinburgh! She is an incredible woman.”

A second said: “She is such a wonderful, resilient, hardworking, asset to the Royal Family.”
