Drivers who have Kia, Tesla or Aston Martin on their driveway issued urgent warning

Tens of thousands of drivers have been issued warnings that their car may , with a number of popular and luxury models affected.

No matter what make or model a driver owns, it is only natural that they may encounter teething issues, requiring owners to take their example to a local dealership for a .

One recall currently affecting a large number of motorists has been announced by , who have warned American motorists that a fault with the could affect nearly 75,000 examples of the 2024 Sorento and Sorento Hybrid.

According to the South Korean brand, a problem with the body domain control unit software could cause the main-beam and tail lights to stop working.

No such recall has yet to be made in the UK, however all Kia owners are able to check if there is an on their model by entering the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the .

Similarly, more than 239,000 Tesla owners in America face a fault that could limit the driver’s visibility. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a computer circuit used in various models could short, preventing the rear parking camera from working.

Nearly all of the Tesla range uses the circuit and is therefore at risk, including examples of the Model X and Model Y made since 2023 and Model 3s and Model Ss produced since 2024.

Tesla has reassured drivers that they will be issuing an over-the-air software update to prevent the issue from occuring in the future and fix any affected models free of charge.

Finally, Aston Martin has announced a voluntary safety recall for 1,452 different cars for a similar software fault that could reduce the driver’s visibility on the roads.

Another fault filed to the NHTSA, the premium car brand warned that the reversing camera could be blocked if a driver selects reverse gear too quickly, with 2024 and 2025 examples of the DB12, DBX707, and Vantage affected.

The recall does not yet affect examples in the UK, but drivers can easily check for outstanding faults that may be present on their vehicle by using the Aston Martin website.

Whilst a large-scale vehicle recall may sound scary, it is easy for drivers to check if their car risks developing a certain fault by checking the VIN.

This 17-digit code is usually located in one of the bottom corners of the windscreen and can be used to reveal a number of facts about the vehicle, such as where it was built, the model year, and even what equipment it was fitted with.

Almost all car companies allow owners to enter the VIN in order to check whether their car is affected by a recall, with those who do not have access to the code also able to check for general recall information on the Government’s website.
