She walked back on the remarks later, admitting to NME: “I didn’t leave the country… I’m not f***ing leaving the country, that’s some ignorant sh**, that’s dumb. Because that’s me abandoning my country when I think I’ve got a good thing to say to my country.”
Miley has remained outspoken about her political views, calling for gun legislation and increased women’s rights after the US reversed the monumental Roe vs. Wade abortion bill.
A staunch Democrat, she’s at war with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, a Republican who campaigns for gun rights and traditional family values.

“Mr. Trump is the 6th U.S. President I’ve met, and I felt like Mr. Corey Comperatore was right there with us.”
At the time, Miley was writing: “Trump can’t stop won’t stop saying stupid a** sexist sh**!!!! Comparing two women! Are you f****** kidding! We will not allow you to destroy everything we have overcome as women! I feel as though we are stronger than ever as a unit.”
Miley has also branded Trump a “f***ing nightmare” and begged: “Wake me up from this nightmare someone PLEASE.”
Billy Ray’s divorce from Tish Cyrus allegedly put strain on his relationship with Miley
It’s also been alleged that Miley’s relationship with her dad became strained after he divorced her mum Tish, moving on with musician Firerose and getting engaged in 2022.
The pair have since divorced, but at the time a source alleged: “The divorce between her parents put a strain on her relationship with her dad and it’s been hard to connect with him in the last year. She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship.”
Miley supported her mum Tish when she tied the knot with Prison Break star Dominic Purcell – and even thanked her during her Grammys acceptance speech. But her dad was nowhere to be seen.
Miley singled out “my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look. Thank you all so much, I don’t think I forgot anyone – but I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”
