BBC The Traitors’ final ‘seer’ twist ‘revealed’ and it could change everything

As the finale of The Traitors looms, viewers are gripped with anticipation to see how the series will conclude and if the Traitors or Faithfuls will be victorious.

The tension reached a fever pitch at the conclusion of the episode aired on Friday (January 17), as host Claudia Winkleman teased the remaining players with a game-changing announcement at their roundtable: “I’m going to award one of you with an extraordinary power that has the potential to turn the entire game on its head.”

Speculations are swirling on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, about the nature of this bombshell twist. A hint may have been hidden in plain sight; Super TV on X highlighted a book titled The Seer, featured prominently during Friday’s show.

They suggested: “In the game ‘Werewolf’… The Seer is arguably the most powerful and important Villager. The Seer targets a player, and the Moderator silently indicates whether that player is a Villager or a Werewolf.”

“The Seer must then find a way to use that knowledge to help the Villagers, without becoming the next target themselves.”, reports .

For those unaware, Werewolf, also referred to as Mafia, pits two groups against each other werewolves and villagers in a strategic battle of subterfuge.

In the first phase of this social deduction game, the killers, identified at the start, aim to discreetly eliminate their chosen victims.

In the gripping second phase of the game, all remaining participants must deduce who among them is responsible for the in-game “murders,” casting votes to identify the culprits.

Should The Seer’s role not be a mere distraction, Claudia could bestow upon one player the crucial ability to uncover the identities of the Traitors.

This individual would then shoulder the responsibility of convincing their fellow Faithfuls of the Traitors’ true nature, with success hinging on the power of persuasion.

Following Friday’s nail-biting episode, viewers flocked to social media to theorise about the hinted twist, with one fan posting: “Wait what’s this extraordinary power Claudia mentioned in the preview for next week, she claims could turn the game on its head.”

Another speculated: “Imagine if the extraordinary power is to unbanish or resurrect a faithful #TheTraitorsUK.”

The Traitors continues on Wednesday night at 9pm on One and iPlayer
