Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure
Ange Postecoglou is the clear favourite with the bookmakers to be the next manager sacked.
sit eight points out side of the relegation zone following their dismal 3-2 loss away to Everton on Sunday.
Edin Terzin, Andoni Iraola and Xabi Alonso are among the frontrunners to replace the Aussie in north London.

doesn’t deserve to still be the manager. His team can’t defend, they have no plan B and are 15th in the table.
are lucky that the bottom four clubs are so much worse than everybody else so they won’t get embroiled in a relegation battle.
Every team has injuries so I’m not having that as an excuse for recent form.
However, there are no strong options available so it makes sense to keep hold of Postecoglou until the end of the season and then reassess. There is also still chance of winning the Carabao Cup so that should be the primary target.

Injuries have torn Big Ange’s squad apart and that really does have to be taken into account.
Playing the same brand of death-defying football with only one of your starting back-four, and an 18-year-old midfielder filling in at centre-back, is bound to produce disastrous results.
Some of that is on Postecoglou himself for failing to adapt, but let’s not forget he had the side purring at the beginning of last season. He deserves the chance to put things right once Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and others return.
But the mess Spurs are in does point to a worrying lack of depth, which needs addressing if they are to get back in the top-four picture.

, at the very least, deserves to work with a semi-healthy squad this season before Daniel Levy swings the axe. He had a full XI of injured players for the defeat to Everton.
And where would even go if Postecoglou is sacked? Another rebuild? Hiring a proven winner? They have tried every avenue already with very little success.
Postecoglou believes in what he is doing and this group of players, perhaps he deserves a bit of belief in return. Support is easy when the team is winning and he has been terribly unfortunate with injuries. Right now what the club needs is to back a manager that has shown that they can compete with anyone in the when at their best.

Spurs should put faith in Postecoglou but there must be some conditions. While the injury crisis that has swept through his squad cannot be blamed on the Australian, a portfolio of hugely underwhelming performances can be pinned on the head coach. A lack of senior players cannot be used as an excuse for the FA Cup display at non-league Tamworth.
Postecoglou must be backed with further signings this month. A new forward, midfielder and central defender must be the minimum requirement. Only when Postecoglou no longer has a paper-thin squad can he be properly judged.
Spurs’ start to last season is evidence of what Postecoglou can achieve with a fully fit squad. Besides, no available manager is going to perform much better with the resources available.
