The second Yellowstone prequel to air on the Paramount Network and Paramount Plus is 1923, which last appeared on screens in the season one finale in February 2023. This episode left Spencer Dutton and Alex separated, while Cara Dutton feared losing her husband’s ranch after being blackmailed by Donald Whitfield.
Elizabeth suffered a heartbreaking loss in the previous episode as well.
The show’s final season will be its second, with Isabel May reprising her role as narrator after 1883. Due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, filming had to be delayed until its conclusion in November 2024.

When is 1923 season 2 out?
The second season will premiere on Sunday, February 23, and there will be eight episodes. Creator Taylor Sheridan said to Deadline that he is looking to bring closure to the story and stated that “This one is different than 1883 where I had the whole thing blocked out in my head.”
The creator revealed: “This one, I had no idea what I was going to do. I just went on a journey myself and I’m the one that made the call to the network, which is probably the greatest call they ever got.”
“Hey, I need to make more episodes to finish this story. I need to do this in two blocks. An eight-episode block and a second eight-episode block to wrap this up.”
“I can’t wrap it up in two episodes and do the story justice. For them, it is great because they get more content. For me, I get more runway.”

Is there a trailer for 1923 season 2?
A trailer was officially released on January 19, showing Donald Whitfield unveiling his plans for the Dutton ranch, stating his intention to turn it into a “playground for the elite”.
He threatens to destroy everything the Duttons have fought for, with Jacob warning that a war is unavoidable.
The trailer also shows Spencer encountering a new character on his treacherous journey back to Montana, where his family desperately needs him. As the Duttons’ adversaries perceive Spencer as a menace, they are determined to eliminate him.
A chilling scene shows a body being hurled off a cliff, hinting at a possible fatality.
