At its peak in early 2022, FTX and its U.S. operations were valued at a combined $40 billion.
Bankman-Fried’s wealth, which peaked at an estimated $26.5 billion (£21.6 billion), was largely tied to his ownership of about half of FTX and a significant stake in its FTT tokens.
