Sunday Brunch’s Tim Lovejoy halts show as guest pulls out of appearance last minute

star Tim Lovejoy addressed one major change that had to be made to the show at the last minute. During the latest instalment of the show, the host wasted no time informing viewers that the guest lineup wasn’t as planned.

He said, “Before we start, I just want to wish The Lumineers well. They had to pull out. They’re currently on vocal rest. They were going to be on the show.”

However, it seemed as though another artist, Victoria Canal, was able to step in. Tim informed people watching that the singer was actually booked to appear on Sunday Brunch at a later date.

Addressing Victoria, the Channel 4 star said: “You rearranged everything, so thank you so much for coming on the show at such short notice.”

Curious, Tim asked when she found out she’d be appearing on Sunday Brunch this weekend. She replied: “I flew into London yesterday, and when I turned on my WIFI, there was a slew of messages like, ‘Is this going to work? Can we make this work?’. We made it work.”

Victoria added, “I had a music teacher a long time ago, like 10 years ago, who said to me,’ This will stay with me forever.’ He said, ‘It’s sad to be ready and not get the call, but it’s tragic to get the call and not be ready.’

Tim seemed impressed with her teachers’ words, calling them brilliant. The Sunday Brunch star then recalled a similar experience the programme had when The Madness appeared on the show.

He told Victoria that the artist who was meant to appear had to pull out, and the band’s frontrunner, Suggs, asked if they could step in.

Admitting the request took him back, Tim said: “He (Suggs) said, ‘That’s what I want to do, sing, that’s my job.’ So he said to me, ‘If I can get our keyboard player, Mike from the band, out of bed, can we do it!”

Thanking Victoria once again for stepping in at the last minute, he highlighted she’s most likely jet-lagged from her flight.

Asking where she was before landing in the UK, she replied: “Seattle, the (coffee) was pretty good. It’s warmer there than it is here, actually.

“But, I went skiing and had a lot of hot chocolate while I was there.”

Elsewhere on the show, Dancing on Ice’s Fern McCann spoke about her appearance in the ITV competition, detailing the changes to her body.

She said: “It’s definitely changed. I feel like I’ve never eaten so much because you’re training a lot, and your mind, even though it’s physical, is learning a new skill.

“So, I need the energy, I’m eating more. Before I signed up for Dancing on Ice, anyone who had done it before and the coaches all spoke about the ‘ice skating booty’ because you’re constantly in a squat position; you’ve got to have bent knees.

“I really feel like the ice skating booty is looking good!”

Sunday Brunch continues Sundays on Channel 4 from 10am.
