had audiences on the edge of their seats this Saturday night as they tried to crack the case of the contestants’ true identities.

The show, known for its cryptic hints, saw Teeth leave viewers utterly astonished with a performance that hinted at a change in gender. The character, who had previously deepened their voice, delivered a rendition of Dua Lipa’s song Houdini that appeared distinctly more feminine.

Despite wild speculations from the panel, which includes stars like Rylan Clarke, Rob Beckett and Alan Carr, it seems they might have been thrown off the scent. Davina McCall was the first to speculate that Teeth might be female.

Twitter was abuzz with reactions from shocked fans. One exclaimed: “Ffs, I thought Teeth was Bradley Walsh, but it’s a woman #TheMaskedSinger”.

Another was equally baffled, tweeting: “Is Teeth actually a woman???!!!!#TheMaskedSinger” One fan declared: “Wait, Teeth is a woman #TheMaskedSinger.”

One surprised viewer posted: “Well, that’s just changed everything. Teeth are female????#TheMaskedSinger.” Meanwhile, another commented: “I thought Teeth was a man last time, and now it’s obviously a woman.”

In the past, Teeth has dropped hints over who they could be. One clue included them saying: “You can probably tell I’m a bit of a big mouth.”

Another hint suggested them going for gold, leading some to suspect the mystery singer could be an Olympian or athlete. Panelist Davina McCall shared the idea it could be Alex Scott inside the elaborate costume.

Saturday night’s episode of masquerade mystery saw the farewell of Tattoo as viewers finally learnt that the vocal talent behind the enigmatic mask was none other than ’80s sensation Carol Decker.

After her grand reveal, the T’Pau frontwoman expressed a mixture of high praise and regret for her departure from the thrilling programme, reports .

Carol shared her feelings, commenting: “I’ve loved it, and I’m going to say, I’m gutted! Everybody is amazing. I’m gutted because it’s the best fun ever.”

Interestingly, despite rocking the tattoo-themed outfit, Carol confessed to not bearing any real tattoos. Show presenter Joel Dommett cheekily proposed she permanently commemorate her time on the show with her first-ever tattoo, echoing her character’s inked aesthetic.

Iconic names such as Macy Gray, Prue Leith, Kate Garraway, and Sir Mo Farah have also had their alter-egos unveiled, while curiosity still shrouds the remaining contestants: Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Snail, Teeth, and Wolf.

The Masked Singer continues Saturdays on ITV from 7pm.
