Dancing on Ice has seen the first celebrity competitor eliminated from the 2025 series after a shocking twist was introduced to the competition.
The much-loved ITV spectacle returned to television screens on Sunday evening, January 19, with Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern at the helm for another gripping instalment.
In the previous week’s show, viewers saw performances from the likes of Chris Taylor, Sam Aston, and Ferne McCann while this week the remaining five celebrities graced the stage, striving to impress the judges with their skills.

However, the show threw a curveball that has annoyed fans, diverging from its usual format when it comes to eliminating participants.

In a huge twist to the long-running ITV show though, instead of a skate-off, the star with the lowest score was automatically sent home. The lowest score was made up of the results of a public vote as well as the judge’s scores, reports .
The outcome left viewers stunned as Chelsee Healey was revealed to be the one with the lowest tally. Confronted with her departure, she bravely asserted: “It’s fine,” while holding back tears.
Holly expressed her astonishment, stating, “I think everyone is shocked actually to see you in this position,” to which Chelsee responded: “Personally there’s been a lot going on with me that I’ve been struggling with so I couldn’t focus, but I’m just really grateful.”

The unexpected voting twist promptly stirred reactions from the Dancing on Ice audience. On X, one person said: “Getting rid of the dance-off is completely unfair because it puts one group at a disadvantage to the other.”
Another viewer expressed their opinion on the fairness of the competition, saying: “I do think the other skating couple should be given an extra week to skate, not really fair on them being voted out so quickly when it was their first week skating.”
As for Chelsee’s departure from the show, fans voiced their support and disappointment. One fan wrote: “Chelsee really deserved more respect.”Another shared their sympathy, writing: “I feel sorry for Chelsee,” as one upset fan declared: “No way should Chelsee have gone!
