The ‘world’s most dangerous airlines’ the banned from flying to the UK

For many, air travel is an anxiety-inducing activity, despite being well-established as the safest mode of transport.

Despite the low accident rates, high safety standards, and complex technology behind flying, many people still hesitate to strap in and take to the skies.

Airlines are heavily regulated, and most carriers have no choice but to adhere to the stringent rules.

However, a surprisingly large number of airlines don’t make the grade and are banned from the UK as a result.

Express.co.uk takes you through the world’s most dangerous airlines.

“In reality, there is no likelihood of the vast majority of these airlines ever flying to the or the UK”, travel expert Simon Calder told .

“But the list provides a handy guide of carriers to be wary of when travelling in the rest of the world”, he added.

According to advice from the Civil Aviation Authority and the UK Air Safety Committee, 138 carriers are banned from operating commercial flights within UK airspace over poor safety standards.
