The richest people in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy worth £328bn combined

Even though the United States is home to eight of the World’s ten the richest person in the World is right here in Europe, according to the Forbes World’s Billionaires List 2024.

The combined wealth of the richest people in the UK, , Germany, and Italy is worth a staggering £328.5 billion.

Here are the wealthiest people in these five European countries.

Bernard Arnault is the richest person in France and the , with a fortune currently estimated at a massive £138.9 billion ($169.6 billion), as reported by Forbes.

As chairman and CEO of LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), which owns Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Givenchy, his exorbitant wealth landed him at the top of Forbes World’s Billionaire List last year when his net worth was estimated at £190.8 billion ($233 billion).

In the UK, 84-year-old Gopichand Hinduja tops the ranking, with an estimated fortune of £37.2 billion, up from a cool £35 billion the previous year.

The Indian-British billionaire and his family have long been named Britain’s richest in the Sunday Times Rich List, a recognition of their huge business empire, including their stake in Hinduja Group.

Amancio Ortega is the having accumulated a fortune nearing £84.4 billion ($103 billion) according to Forbes.

As the founder of Inditex, the global fashion group behind Zara and Bershka, Ortega’s stake in global fashion brands has made him one of the richest people in the world.

Confectionary giant Giovanni Ferrero is Italy’s richest, with a net worth of £35.9 billion ($43.8 billion) according to Forbes in 2024, and a company which posted £14.7 billion ($18 billion) sales in 2023.

He is chairman of his family’s namesake confection business, Ferrero, which blessed everyone with favourites like Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, and Kinder chocolates.

In Germany, Klaus-Michael Kühne, the shipping logistics magnate, is worth £32.1 billion ($39.2 billion).

As honorary chairman of Kuehne + Nagel, one of the largest logistics companies in the world, Kühne has made his fortune through global supply chain solutions, particularly in shipping and freight logistics.
