Belkin’s 10-in-1 laptop dock decluttered the space on my home office desk
January is the best time to reset your routine and start the new year with a new approach, and that’s how I gave myself a New Year resolution to reshuffle the limited space on my home office desk. I turned to this to transform my workspace.
Ditching messy cables for a decluttered space. The Belkin tool is not only a dock for your thumb drives and SD cards, the raised platform can also be used as a laptop stand while keeping all the ports in the back for easy use.
The ports allow you to connect to two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, two display monitors, audio, VGA, Ethernet, one micro SD card and one SD card.
The cables were left hanging on both sides of my MacBook Pro before I used the Belkin dock
I did consider a from Amazon but I would have an extra item left on the corner of my desk, so having a port that doubles as a stand works felt like a better fit.
The multiport dock works as a desk organiser as it keeps all my USBs, charging cables and monitor extensions out of sight. But with more products paired with USB-C charging, I found that one USB-C is not enough if I want to charge my phone and my headphone at the same time.
With the Belkin dock, I keep all the thumb drives and charging cables neatly behind my laptop
Don’t miss…
Connecting the Belkin dock to my external monitor was fine, and it extended the display, so I didn’t have to hunch over and stare at the laptop screen for long hours. With all the cables and drives attached to a hub, I was able to disconnect all of them in one go without making a mess around.
While I had not been able to test out the Ethernet function, one shopper shared: “The wired internet port is a must for a fast and stable internet connection. It doesn’t charge your laptop but it charges your connected devices such as a cellphone or tablet.”
The Belkin 11-in-1 Multiport Laptop Dock is an essential tool when I work from home. It’s retailed for £119.99 but you can enjoy 10% off instead. , £25.19, could be a more affordable option if you have a bigger desk space to place the dock.
, £179.99, doubles as a monitor stand, and it declutters your workspace, allowing you to connect it to your laptop and an external monitor simultaneously.
What I didn’t like? I wish Belkin had better options to connect to either of the side of the laptop or popped a longer cable in the box so I can connect it on the right side of my laptop. It works perfectly fine on a MacBook Pro and the . However, it’s something worth noting for shoppers.
