Despite previously declaring that his fight against wouldn’t affect his way of life, has on a swanky new mansion. The 58-year-old icon made a comeback to the ring for the -streamed spectacle last year against the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Initially postponed due to a health scare Tyson experienced in May, the bout ultimately saw Paul, 31, secure a decisive victory on points at the AT&T Stadium in Texas in November. Tyson pocketed an estimated £16m from the event but was adamant that money was not his motivator.

He told after the fight: “No, no, no, that payday’s not going to change my lifestyle at all.” Prior to the fight, he dismissed claims that financial gain was his reason for his comeback as “bull****.”

At an MMA event, Tyson explained: “I’m a man, I want to go out there and I want to expose myself to risk. Sometimes I want to see who I really am. I want to see what I’m really made out of. I want to perform in front of the world.”

Nevertheless, just a couple of months on from the fight, Tyson has treated himself to a deluxe property in Delray Beach, Florida. According to the , the deal for the property closed at $13m (just under £11m), with a special warranty deed filed earlier this week confirming that Tyson is now the owner of a 2.7-acre estate in the exclusive Tierra del Rey Estates.

Joseph Jonathan Schneider, representing Tyson, said: “This has been a successful transaction with all the parties demonstrating professionalism and collaboration. The Tyson family has been a valued client and friend for many years, and it’s been a pleasure working with them.”

Estate agent Matthew Maschler previously revealed how Tyson was tempted to buy in Tierra del Rey Estates, which translates into ‘Land of the Kings’, after his daughter started playing tennis in the area. He said: “Basically, the appeal to him is his daughter plays tennis, and she plays in Delray.”

While most boxing followers are eager to see Tyson hang up his gloves, there is speculation about a potential third showdown against Evander Holyfield, 62, who won the first fight between the pair in 1996. The rematch saw Tyson infamously disqualified after biting off a chunk of his opponent’s ear.

Actor and martial arts expert Paulo Tocha, who is close to Tyson, recently said: “At the end [of the Paul fight], he kind of let us know there’s another one coming. Most probably it’s going to be Evander after all. He and Evander – after what happened to his ear and all that. So most probably it’ll be something like that.”
