Michael McIntyre has unveiled the poignant reason for an “unmissable” surprise on his Big Show, which is set to triumphantly return for its eighth season tonight (January 18) at 6:50 p.m. on One.

In anticipation of the show’s premiere, Michael revealed that World Darts Champion Luke Littler would be part of a heartwarming moment for one lucky audience member.

“It’s so wonderful that the Big Show can give special people a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” he expressed.

The comedian disclosed that Gary, a passionate darts enthusiast who tragically lost his son to cancer, will receive an unmissable surprise.

“He has dedicated himself to fundraising in his son’s name, but his family wanted him to have a special night, and that we did,” Michael explained.

“He thought he was going to watch the World Matchplay in Blackpool but ended up playing with Luke Littler in front of thousands of people – and he played amazingly,” reports .

Moreover, Michael hinted at an “inspirational” Unexpected Star of the show. This segment surprises a member of the public by offering them the chance to perform live on stage, unbeknownst to them.

One such deserving individual is Peter, who has devotedly sung to his wife by her bedside as she undergoes end of life care.

“He’s a truly wonderful man and character and so deserving of the special moment he had performing on our stage,” Michael divulged.

The new series is set to tickle viewers with a “hilarious” segment titled Remember Me, in which celebrities are confronted by someone from their past and must then figure out their connection to the enigmatic guest.

Holly Willoughby, Miranda Hart, and Alan Carr are among the stars who are participating.

Judi Love, Michael Sheen, and Tony Bellew will hand over their mobiles for a round of Send to All, while Josh Widdicombe, Sam Thompson, and Zara McDermott will be featured in the Midnight Gameshow.

Additionally, Wheel on Wheels makes a comeback, with Michael and his team hitting the streets of Birmingham to find audiences watching the gameshow live.
