Meghan Markle’s two-word verdict on King Charles after rift

Since quitting life as senior royals five years ago, and have not held back from issuing a number of damning accusations and stories about the Royal Family.

While the couple, who live in a Montecito mansion with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, have kept the Royal Family discussions to a minimum over the past year as a result of the King and Princess Kate’s health scares, this was not the case before.

Although she is the daughter-in-law of the monarch, 76, Meghan is no longer believed to talk to King Charles much, despite the fact Charles is still in contact with .

This is despite the fact Meghan and the monarch once shared a seemingly close bond, with in 2018 when she fell out with her own father Thomas Markle.

Despite the ongoing rifts across the pond between certain royals and the couple,which were made worse following the release of Harry’s memoir Spare in 2023, Meghan did issue a brief two-word verdict on the King when discussing him in the 2022 docuseries Harry and Meghan.

She described the King as “very charming”, before detailing how he ended up walking her down the aisle on her wedding day to his youngest son.

She said on the docuseries: “”Harry’s dad is very charming and I said to him, ‘I’ve lost my dad in this.’ So him as my father-in-law is very important to me.

“So I asked him to walk me down the aisle and he said ‘yes.’ The whole thing was surreal.”

It is believed Meghan no longer has much to do with the King, despite the fact he is her husband’s father.

One royal expert even said that the duchess to complain about her short time as a senior royal and the “different rules” she had to follow while carrying out her royal duties, compared to other members of the Royal Family.
