Monfils and Svitolina have been dating for more than six years. The former top-10 players went public with their relationship by creating a joint account titled GEMS Life, a play on their initials.
Since then, the pair got married and welcomed their first daughter. They seemed to start the trend of tennis power couples, as Boulter is now engaged to De Minaur while other players like and have started dating.
Monfils and Svitolina have kept their relationship low-key for the last few years, but they continue to support each other while playing at the same tournaments. And it was no different on Saturday.
When the French world No. 41 stunned , he told the Margaret Court Arena spectators that he “warmed up the court” for his wife. Svitolina then stormed back to upset Jasmine Paolini and said: “I would want to say that I got inspired after my husband’s win.”

The unusual parallels between their matches have drawn attention. And Boulter was one of the first to congratulate the couple on social media.
The British No. 1 quoted a tweet celebrating Monfils and Svitolina’s victories on the second-biggest showcourt in Melbourne Park and acknowledged that they were the ‘original’ power couple.
“Forever OGs,” she wrote, adding a heart and an emoji with tears in its eyes.
