Snooker star is eyeing up an expensive purchase with his snooker earnings as he nears the £9million mark.

The Bristolian has significantly boosted his bank balance by winning the Saudi Arabia Masters and UK Championship titles this season.

And he looks set to add another huge sum by progressing to the latter stages of the Masters,

As a result of his success, Trump has amassed £1.22m in earnings for the 2024-25 snooker season, the second time he has surpassed seven figures in terms of accumulated prize money.

His earnings for that period have already surpassed his previous highest total in 2018-19, when he banked £1.09m.

Since he turned professional in 2005, the world No.1 has banked a whopping total of £8.92m, although he will have had to pay tax on a large chunk of those earnings.

Trump has previously revealed his passion for speed, investing heavily in a number of extravagant sports cars during his career.

But when asked if he would splash out on another ‘ridiculous car’ such as a Rolls Royce, Trump suggested he would be looking to the sea for his next luxury purchase.

Speaking to Eurosport, he said: “Nah, I think I want a yacht next! I think I want a yacht,” before breaking into a smile.

His response prompted laughter from snooker icons Jimmy White and Alan McManus, who were in the studio analysing the action at Alexandra Palace as pundits.

It’s fair to say he puts his money where his mouth is. In 2012, he splashed out £100,000 on a 430 Spider after winning the UK Championship. The 35-year-old also owns a Lamborghini Huracan, which is worth around £235,000 when bought brand new.

Trump’s latest windfall arrived after he joined Kyren Wilson, Shaun Murphy and Mark Allen in reaching the last four with a 6-3 victory over Ding Junhui.

The two-time Masters winner found himself trailing 3-1 after a sluggish start, but showed his mettle to battle back by winning the next five frames.

He faces Wilson in a mouthwatering semi-final at Ally Pally, with the winner of that tie facing Murphy or Allen in Sunday’s final.

Should Trump advance to the final, it would mark the third time in his career that he has achieved the feat – having previously done so in 2019 and 2023.

He also boasts a perfect record when in such a position, beating Ronnie O’Sullivan 10-4 to claim his first title and seeing off Mark Williams 10-8 in a thrilling encounter two years ago.

There is a lucrative £350,000 prize on offer for the winner of the event, and that would go some way to funding Trump’s dream of buying a yacht.
