Donald Trump could force the deportation of Prince Harry within months, claims expert

Prince Harry could face deportation from the United States within months of coming to office, a prominent political expert and commentator has claimed.

Nile Gardiner, of the respected Washington think tank the Heritage Foundation, has told the Daily Express that their campaign to force the release of ’s immigration application could secure a major breakthrough once Mr Trump is in the Oval Office.

The conservative think tank sued the Department of Homeland Security last year in an attempt to force the disclosure of the Prince’s visa application, which will reveal whether he confessed to previously taking illegal drugs.

In his autobiography, Spare, confessed to using cannabis, cocaine and magic mushrooms, which the Heritage Foundation argues would have barred his entry into the United States.

The legal action failed last September after it was blocked by a judge, however Mr Gardiner now says he believes will use his executive powers to overturn the decision and release the documents.

Once published, it may reveal that either lied on the official application, or suggest he received favourable treatment due to his status.

Speaking from the Heritage Foundation’s office next to the US Capitol building yesterday, Mr Gardiner said he believes the move by could come within a few months of him taking office.

He added it could even force the deportation of from the United States “very quickly”.

Mr Gardiner said: “We want to know whether he was honest and truthful on his immigration application.”

“Now, if someone lies on a US immigration application, that is a criminal offence and that person would be subject to deportation from the United States.

“And so what we’re asking for is for the release of those records, so the American people can see what is actually contained in Harry’s immigration records. If he has nothing to fear, he should support the release of those of these records.”

He revealed: “In my view, I think there’s a very good chance that the records will be released. And as President Trump has said in the past, he will take appropriate action if Harry lied on his application.”

“So I’m in no doubt if Harry lied and let’s see what’s in his application, but if he lied, I think Harry would be deported from the United States very swiftly.”

Asked what sort of timetable could be looking at for a decision on this crucial question by the President, Mr Gardiner added: “We could see the release of the records at any time in the next year or two”.

“My hope is in the next few months, and I think President Trump is likely to order the release – he has the authority to do that.”

He reiterated his challenge to that he should support the calls to release his application to allow him to set the record straight.
