1. Kettle

To clean a kettle with a dishwasher tablet, boil the appliance with water filled to the halfway mark and let it slightly cool.

Add in the dishwasher tablet and let it sit for a while before pouring the water out and refilling fresh water.

The tablet should loosen all of the limescale stuck at the bottom of the appliance.

2. Oven trays

To clean oven trays with dishwasher tablets, I soak the trays in hot water with a dissolved tablet.

I let the tray sit overnight, if possible, before lightly scrubbing them with a sponge to dislodge the grime.

3. Sinks

Start by filling the sink with warm water, and then use the dishwasher tablet to gently scrub around.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water once you cover every area, and make sure you wear gloves for this hack.

4. Toilets

Drop a dishwasher tablet into the toilet bowl before letting it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before scrubbing the bowl with a brush. Simply flush the toilet to reveal a clean and limescale-free toilet bowl.

5. Oven door

To remove food and grime from an oven door, simply fill a bowl with warm water and unwrap a hard dishwasher tablet.

Wearing gloves, dip the dishwasher tablet into the water and begin scrubbing the marks on the oven door.

6. Microwave

Using the same method as the oven door, use the soaked dishwasher tablet to scrub the inside of the microwave.

Take a clean cloth and wipe over the appliance to remove the residue to unveil a super-clean microwave.

7. Saucepans

If you have a burnt saucepan or stubborn marks which you cannot get off, a dishwasher tablet is a great way to banish these marks.

I simply fill the saucepan or pan with hot water and dissolve a tablet in the water. Let it sit for around an hour before rinsing it away.

8. Cleaning clothes

To remove clothing stains with a dishwasher tablet, you can soak the clothing in a solution of warm water and a dissolved tablet, then wash it as usual.

Dishwasher tablets contain bleach and enzymes, which can help to remove stains and brighten whites.

9. Cleaning vases

If you love having fresh flowers in your home like me, you may find that the glass becomes stained or cloudy. It can be tricky to thoroughly clean a vase, though, especially if it is an awkward shape.

To use a dishwasher tablet, simply fill the vase with warm water, place the dishwasher tablet in it along with a little washing-up liquid and let it soak for 30 minutes.

Rinse the vase, and you’ll have a beautifully clean and cloudy-free glass vase for your flowers.

10. BBQ

In the summer, dishwasher tablets work great at cleaning BBQ grills. Simply place them in a bag or the bath with a dissolved dishwasher tablet and watch the grime melt away.
