might have lost plenty of inches off his waistline, but his net worth has only been increasing over the years. Now standing at a cool £12.3million, Mark has been a staple of the show since 2009, as well as its spin-off Beat the Chasers.
Mark said he earns more money for the spin-off than the main show, explaining at the National Reality TV Awards: “That’s the week we earn like footballers, so of course I’ll do it. If I could get away with it, I’d purge half of them because the fewer Chasers there are, the more money I get.”

The star started out his quizzing career on The Weakest Link, and has also performed stand-up comedy to crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe. Although he’s not the wealthiest chaser, he’s still got plenty to be excited about.
Darragh Ennis is the newest Chaser
Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis joined The Chase after first appearing as a contestant. The star keeps cool about his earnings, but was keen to clear up the idea that the chasers win lost prize money.
He said: “A lot of people ask me, do we get the money when we beat contestants on The Chase? Do we win that money? I wish we did, I really wish we did. I’d be a lot better off, believe me, but no, we don’t.
“The money isn’t actually real until someone wins. It’s just numbers on a screen until it’s won, so it just disappears.”
