The UK has plenty of beautiful to visit but there’s something that makes this one stand out.
boasts miles of stunning coastline, with pretty cliffs and beautiful beaches where visitors can enjoy a number of activies including swimming, surfing, rockpooling and windsurfing.
But the town of Sidmouth is one like no other, as the website states. The town, which lies along the Jurassic Coast has a number of things going on in both the summer and winter months.
Locals and visitors admire the place and many say they “never want t leave” as it “ticks all the right boxes.”
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the busyness of life, but Sidmouth offers a tranquil way of living, offering the perfect escape.

The town boasts great coastal walks, a number of independent stores, its own lifeboat station and friendly locals who are at the heart of the town.
Businesses owners speaking to Devon Live shared that the “homely” feel that Sidmouth offers comes from everyone knowing one another – a reflection of the tight-knit community.
In fact, it doesn’t matter how long people have been there, to many it has become their home, owing to the sense of community that has been built by the town’s residents.
Dotted around, visitors will find a number of holiday homes and hotels, as well as the town centre which is made up of locally-run businesses and a small number of chains.

Visitors feel at home when they visit Sidmouth
Nikki Morgan has lived in Sidmouth for nearly five years and is a retail assistant at The Old Sweet Shop, on Church Street, what she called “the best shop in the world.”
She told Devon Live: “Community in Sidmouth is wonderful. On Church Street, we all know each other, and we take in each other’s parcels. It’s a very gentle place to live. I’ve lived in Sidmouth for nearly five years, but used to come here when I was a teenager and I grew up five miles away in Crediton, so I consider myself a local.”
She added: “Once you come here, they don’t leave, which is lovely, but we have a lot of people who work here who can’t afford to live here, which I think is a real shame. You get all these holiday homes in Devon, we get all these holiday homes, and they are all very welcome. We rely on them for an income and they keep the county going, but it’s a difficult one because there’s nowhere for the locals to live.”
While some people view Sidmouth as retirement town – that’s really not the case, with so many things to enjoy from the anual Folk Festival and Jazz Festival, which draws in a lot of tourists to smaller community focused events; there is something to draw anyone to the town.
