Logan Paul wants to fight Conor McGregor
Logan Paul has made a direct appeal to Ari Emanuel, the head honcho of Endeavor which ownsa the UFC and WWE, for a chance to square off against in the boxing ring.
Last month, buzz was rife that McGregor was negotiating a bout with Jake Paul’s elder sibling. Taking to X – the platform formerly known as Twitter – the Irish fighter quashed rumours of a tussle with UFC featherweight champ Ilia Topuria, declaring: “The rumours of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
This potential mega-fight could rake in a staggering $250million for both contenders. Despite ‘The Maverick’ recently affirming his commitment to WWE, a tempting proposition to duke it out with the ex-UFC double champ might just lure him back into the boxing ring.
In a fresh clip on his YouTube channel, Paul was seen at WWE Raw’s premiere, not competing but featuring in a pre-recorded interview before taking a seat at ringside. The 29 year old influencer was captured mingling with wrestling greats such as Kevin Owens and LA Knight, but his most captivating moment was a run-in with Emanuel – the big boss of Endeavor and the TKO Group, the entities behind WWE and UFC.
Paul was captured in a candid moment with Emanuel sharing a hearty embrace and handshake, then saying, “Ari, I need one favour from you,” to which the Endeavor head honcho replied, “Yeah” Paul’s request followed: “I need you to greenlight me vs Conor.” A shared laugh ensued, and both stated “seriously” almost in unison.
The same footage also conveyed Paul’s openness to clashing with McGregor, WWE commitments notwithstanding. Hinting at a previous interaction, the clip then transitioned to a sequence suggesting a phone conversation about the potential fight, ostensibly with McGregor on speakerphone declaring, “This can happen my man for real,” as Paul held his mobile aloft. “This can and will happen” was the confident assertion from the Irishman.
In subsequent scenes, Paul is seen brainstorming promotion ideas with WWE scriptwriter Rob Fee, musing about declaring his boxing career over for shock value. “Saying no more boxing, that will get some attention,” he pointed out, quickly correcting, “Because that’s not true. If Conor McGregor wants to fight, we are running it. I mean, bro, it’s an epic fight… It would be something I’d like. Step away from the WWE for a second to do [that fight]. $250 million, bro. I’ve got to take that. If Nick Khan matches that, I’ll stay in the WWE.”
Paul remarked that the Irishman seems to be nudging UFC chief Dana White to sanction the fight, saying: “I think he’s trying to pressure Dana into making it happen because he’s owned by the UFC,” and noted, “He can’t f***ing s***, let alone fight without them knowing.”
But White threw a curveball recently on the Pardon My Take podcast, indicating a different path for ‘The Notorious’: “Eventually,” he said regarding a potential 2025 fight with McGregor, adding firmly, “No, no (he won’t fight KSI or Logan Paul]. Hopefully Conor McGregor returns in the fall.”
