Anne Robinson admitted that it “wouldn’t be fair” as she ripped into Kay Burley during a discussion about cosmetic surgery.
The “Queen of Mean” is set to grill a set of celebrities when she fronts a one-off stage show of the legendary quiz show , one of whom is Sky News presenter Kay Burley.
Anne will be on hosting duties while the award-winning journalist faces off against a number of other famous names, including Toyah Willcox, Tom Parker Bowles and ‘s dad, Stanley, as part of the show.
In an interview with the i, journalist Helen Brown said she could see Anne figuring out jibes for the contestants, with Anne saying: “Kay Burley’s had a facelift”.
However, when this was followed up by the point that Anne herself had gone under the knife, the presenter candidly expressed her own opinions about plastic surgery.

“It wouldn’t be fair to other women of my age not to be honest,” she said. “I didn’t like watching myself on Watchdog and thinking: ‘Why is my mother on television?’
“I always tell people it’s no different from getting your ears pierced. If you’re happy to put holes in your ears to change your appearance, then why shouldn’t you put holes in your face?”
In September 2024, Anne revealed that she still receives attention over her £9,000 facelift, with people asking her questions about the years later.
Anne, who has also admitted to receiving Botox injections, previously said she’d wished she’d waited before showing her new look on TV. She described plastic surgery as a “bit like taking a leg of lamb out of the oven” as you have to “let it rest for a bit”.

Set up to raise funds for Anne’s local school, Hatherop Primary, to allow it to move from “leaking prefab classrooms” and into a “proper building”, the charity show has even led to Anne doubling her exercise classes.
Speaking to the Mail, she added: “I’ve doubled my Pilates classes and am training to stand upright.”
The sharp-witted quiz show host announced she was leaving The Weakest Link back in 2011, having fronted a whopping 1,600 episodes from 2000 to 2012.
However, the much-loved show returned to our screens eight years later, this time presented by and A League of Their Own star .
