The premiere was a star-studded affair, with celebrities such as Lady Anita Dobson, Oti Mabuse, Denise Van Outen, Duncan James, Anthony Costa, Matt Goss, Nicola Roberts, Dame Arlene Phillips, and Hayley Atwell joining Sir David at the prestigious venue.
In November, Sir David Jason expressed his disappointment at having to relinquish his pilot’s license due to health issues.
The beloved actor, known for his roles as Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter in Only Fools and Horses and DI Jack Frost in A Touch of Frost, was an avid flyer of his Robinson R44 helicopter since obtaining his license in 2005.
However, due to a series of health complications including a hip replacement and ongoing knee and leg pain, the star has had to hang up his flying gloves after nearly two decades. As he ages, Sir David admitted to feeling “increasingly uncomfortable in the air.”
The veteran actor, whose career spans over half a century with roles in television and films such as Royal Flash and The Odd Job, has also voiced concerns about his memory. Despite this, he remains grateful for his overall health, particularly his unimpaired sight and hearing.
In a previous interview with the Sunday Times, he confessed: “My memory isn’t what it used to be… Most of us reach this point when things aren’t quite as bright as they used to be… Mind you, I don’t wear a hearing aid, I don’t wear glasses, and I’ve only had to replace one bit of my body [a hip replacement], so I’m not doing too bad, thank you.”

He also disclosed his feelings about missing his daughter, Sophie Mae, 23, whom he shares with his wife Gill, especially now that she’s moved out of the family home.
Reflecting on the new circumstances, he remarked: “There’s been a loss and a change. Now I can get into her bedroom without needing a bulldozer to clear the route. She was never the tidiest of little people but, having said that, yeah we do miss her. We miss not having an empty fridge! “.
