Tired of changing your bed linen and requiring a few takes just to get the duvet to sit in all four corners?

A guru says she has come up with a way to get the done quickly – and most importantly, ensure the corners of your duvet fit snugly into the corner of your sheets. “I find this method so much easier,” Chloe Stevens told her followers. “It gets the duvet right in the corners and you don’t have to do that whole shaking thing, desperately trying to get it where it should be.”

In her video, Chloe says the trick is to begin with your duvet cover inside out with the zip or buttons at the bottom, and if there’s a top to the cover such as a pattern – ensure it is face down to the under sheet. “Next, lay your duvet completely on top of the cover, corner to corner,” she instructs.

“Then, at the top of the bed, take the corner of both the duvet and the cover and roll them as tightly as you can until you get to the bottom – the other side will just come with it.” Chloe advises that once your “burrito shape” roll reaches the end, take the bottom of the duvet cover, reach in and pull it inside, before tucking it around the duvet at both bottom corners.

“This enables you to grab the centre of the duvet and tuck it in and then you can literally just role the entire thing back up and because the whole thing has been rolled up together, you will find all four corners are perfectly aligned,” Chloe added.

I find this method so much easier, let me know if you try it

She continued: “Now just straighten it out and close it up at the bottom. I personally love this method – I find it laods easier. I’m quite short so when I have a king size duvet and I’m holding it up trying to shake the duvet into the cover, it’s tricky. It’s much easier to do with the whole thing flat on the bed.”

“This looks so complicated – try putting cover inside out then holding each corner while holding each corner of duvet also and then flip the cover over it and shake until it covers the whole duvet,” one user told Chloe as an alternative approach. That prompted her to explain: “I struggle with the shaking part, so does my mum who has mobility issues so that’s why we found this method to be easier.”

A second penned in hope of clarity: “Going to give it a go. Maybe you could re-do the demo with a different colour duvet cover to the white duvet.”

A third person hailed, however: “This is the best I’ve seen this explained, thank you. Going to give it a try with your video as a step by step guide.”

Chloe agreed with the previous comment, meanwhile: “I think it would’ve been even clearer if I used a coloured duvet cover against the white duvet so I’m going to refilm a new version soon.”

Whilst a fourth admitted: “I have always put it on inside out, but your way I think might work better.” Chloe agreed: “I find it feels a bit less strenuous and is easier to make sure it’s lined up perfectly with all the corners in, hope it goes well for you if you try it.”
