“Anything extra is a bonus because I have the energy to do it, so why not? It is the best thing for us as defenders, to lock down the wingers.” He then added: “I believe I can make it at the top level of football.”

Meanwhile, his Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola attempted to dampen down the transfer speculation around the player last month as he explained: “Milos has been solid this season.

“He is more mature and he is seeing the benefits of having the experience of going through a past season. I think it is a new level for him.

“About the other teams [and their interest], I don’t really pay too much attention to these things. I don’t know how much truth there is in these rumours.”
