Flavio Briatore may have ‘leaked’ ’s 2025 livery ahead of the F1 75 car launch event in February after fans noticed an story posted to his account showed blurry photographs of the team’s new car design.

Briatore returned to F1 in 2024 after discussions with Renault CEO Luca de Meo and was appointed executive advisor. Since then, the Italian has worked closely with team principal Oliver Oakes to guide the day-to-day running of the Enstone squad.

While Briatore’s return corresponded with an upturn in form after a miserable season, the 74-year-old may have slipped up away from the track. He posted a snap from a “marketing meeting” on his story, but on the table were two visible photos of an Alpine livery that looked strikingly different from the A524.

Alpine’s 2024 challenger was in keeping with the majority of the grid in that it contained plenty of exposed carbon fibre. The blurry photos on the desk in Briatore’s shot appeared to show pink sections on the nose and rear of the car with dashes of the team’s classic blue around the cockpit and on the side pods.

Briatore has never been too far from the headlines this off-season. The executive advisor made waves when he refused to calm speculation that Alpine might drop Jack Doohan midway through the 2025 campaign.

“The only certain thing is death,” Briatore told Le Parisien. “We start the year with Pierre and Jack, I guarantee it. After that, we’ll see during the season. I have to help the team reach a situation where it can achieve results.

“The driver is the one who has to finish the work of the almost one thousand people behind him. Everyone works for just two people. And if there is a driver who is not making progress, who is not bringing results, he will be changed.”

More F1… [VERDICT]

Doohan is now under immense pressure heading into his rookie campaign. The Australian racer debuted at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but failed to impress, and he reportedly has just six races in 2025 to convince Alpine chiefs that he is the man to lead the team forward alongside .

Alpine added further fuel to the fire when they confirmed the signing of Franco Colapinto on a five-year deal. The Argentine racer joins Paul Aron and Ryo Hirakawa in the team’s reserve driver stable, providing Oakes and Briatore with a wealth of options should they drop Doohan at any point.
