DWP says ‘check’ as you could boost your State Pension payments

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is urging people to “check if this applies to you” as many people could increase how much they’ll receive. Currently, a person is able to claim the new if they are a man born on or after April 6, 1951, or a woman born on or after April 6, 1953.

Those born before these dates will get the basic instead. And to get any new a person needs to have 10 qualifying years on their National Insurance record.
