Disney+ has a brand new action-packed series coming to the streaming platform called A Thousand Blows. The first-look trailer was released today (January 16) and it sure packs a punch with many intense and gritty scenes.
The six-part series is set in the perilous world of illegal boxing in 1880s Victorian London and launches on Disney+ on February 21. It follows two best friends, Hezekiah and Alec, who have just arrived from Jamaica and are adjusting to their new and very different surroundings.
As they fight for survival in the violet melting pot in London, they end up coming against a dangerous veteran boxer called Sugar Goodson.
It stars Stephen Graham, Malachi Kirby, Erin Doherty, Francis Lovehall, Ziggy Heath, Jason Tobin and James Nelson-Joyce as well as a talented supporting cast.
The series was created by Steven Knight, who also created the critically acclaimed series Peaky Blinders. Both shows are set in the same time-period and so Peaky Blinders fans are sure to love this series just as much. The trailer showcases violent fights in the boxing ring, forbidden romances and plenty of twists and turns.

Upon watching the trailer, fans flocked to to share their reactions as one person said: “Put anyone else in the trailer, and this would be an automatic pass simply because of the trailer.
“But it is Stephen Graham. So I am in, and he looks like a f*****g tank here.”
Another fan penned: “This looks good. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by one of Stephen Graham’s performances, and it’s nice to see Erin Doherty again after The Crown.
“She was one of the few highlights in seasons 3 and 4 for me as Princess Anne.”
